Adderall can be effective when used properly, but when misused it can become very addictive and potentially dangerous. Using this medication improperly can cause serious effects on the heart and could even cause death.

The possible consequences of Adderall abuse can be very severe. When you take high doses of a stimulant such as Adderall, you may experience:

  • An irregular heartbeat
  • Dangerously high body temperatures
  • The potential for cardiovascular failure
  • Seizures
  • Hostility or feelings of paranoia

Adderall should not be mixed with any medicine containing decongestants as it can raise blood pressure to dangerously high rates and lead to irregular heart rhythms. Adderall should also not be mixed with antidepressants – it can enhance the effects of the drug to a dangerous level.
